Certified Perkins Diesel Engine Product Training Center

Learn with some of the country’s foremost educators on Perkins engines at our state-of-the-art training facility in Ridgefield, WA., and at our Oklahoma City location. We offer a variety of Perkins engine training classes that are based on years of experience to prep you for real-world situations. Proper training for your Perkins engines is critical to ensuring safe and successful operation and maintenance. Safety

Worker safety is paramount to us at Perkins Pacific and is a major focus of all training courses we provide. Manufacturer specific safety procedures are embedded in the publications we use as reference material and are discussed in detail in the classroom — demonstrated by the instructor and required of the students during and after the course. Students attending a training class with us are required to wear appropriate clothing that consists of long pants, closed toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and work boots.

Engine Diagnostics – HRC 53168

About: Demonstrate your knowledge as an Expert Level Technician by successfully completing several lab situations where faults and scenarios will be introduced. You will be evaluated on your ability to diagnose and repair each fault, using proper tooling and service manual procedures.

Emission Systems and Advanced Electronics 53169

About: Demonstrate your knowledge as an Expert Level technician by successfully completing several lab exercise stations where faults and scenarios will be introduced. You will be evaluated on your ability to diagnose and repair each fault relating to aftertreatment systems using proper tooling and service manual procedures.

Electronically Controlled Engines (41748)

About: This course is aimed primarily at the technician, covering generic subjects relating to electronically controlled Perkins Engines.  The course covers subjects from basic circuits to speed control, sensors, engine & application wiring. Fault finding and use of diagnostic equipment such as multimeters & Electronic Service Tool (EST)

Prerequisites: Distant Learning CDs & Persons with a sound diesel engine background wishing to attain knowledge of the Perkins Electronic Engines range.

1100D Series – Mechanical/Electrical (41486)

About: This course focuses on both mechanical and electrical aspects of the engine. It includes a mixture of partial tear-down/running engine diagnostics, covering fuel system operation, key service procedures, electrical systems knowledge/troubleshooting. It is especially suited to technical staff involved with service and repair. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to recognize the components associated with 1100C&D Common Rail Engines, perform strip, rebuild and service operations and perform systematic electrical fault diagnostics.

Tier IV Diagnostics (41751)

About: With new technologies such as high temperature regeneration and Nox Reduction Systems (NRS) being used on the latest range of engines from Perkins, diagnostics training is essential to provide the technician with the knowledge and confidence to provide effective repair. During this course students learning will be heavily focused around working on running engines with replicated faults and utilizing the electronic service tool (EST) together with the appropriate service literature to learn how to correctly diagnose engines within the Tier IV range.

Prerequisites: Distant Learning CDs, Electronically Controlled Engines & 1100D Series – Mechanical/Electrical

Tier IV Final – 1200F and 854F (44210)

About: With new technologies such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Systems being used on the latest range of engines from Perkins, diagnostics training is essential to provide the technician with the knowledge and confidence to provide effective repair. During this course, student learning will be heavily focused around working on operational engines with replicated faults and utilizing the Electronic Service Tool (EST) together with the appropriate service literature to learn how to correctly diagnose engines with the Tier IV Final range.

Prerequisites: Distant Learning CDs, Electronically Controlled Engines, Tier IV Diagnostics Training (Module 3), 1200F WBT – Overview training & 854F Overview WBT

400 F-E Diagnostics (44800)

About: The release of the new Perkins Engines 400F-E sees the use of a Common Rail Fuel System, Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, Nox Reduction System and full Electronic Engine Management on this quiet, compact and powerful engine. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to diagnose faults related to the Fuel System, After Treatment and Engine Electronic service procedures. Also utilizing the Troubleshooting Guide (TSG) and EST to assist in fault finding.

1706 Engine & Aftertreatment (52080)

About: This course is designed to familiarize participants with the nomenclature of the 1706J engine, aftertreatment DOC/DPF, aftertreatment DEF/SCR, EST service tests and maintenance items. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to have a better understanding of basic knowledge to properly maintain and perform repairs on the Perkins 1706J engine.

904 Electrical & Aftertreatment (52041)

About: This class offers you a hands-on engine overview and diagnostic training course. It is designed to give an insight into the 904 series and aftertreatment system. The course also covers EST service tests and functionality and is aimed at those within a technical role. People in non-technical roles are also welcome to attend.

2000 Tier IV Industrial (52792)

About: With the introduction of the 2000F series product in variable speed configurations, a new training course has been developed to give service technicians the training needed to properly service and repair these new engines in the Perkins family. The course will offer training focused on the emissions control systems of the engine.  The training aid will consist of a 2206F engine in full operational IOPU configuration.
